MEDICAL Program 2012
(4 week program + 1 optional additional week):
From Saturday May 19 through Saturday June 16, 2012 or June 23, 2012
Optional: week # 5 for clinical observation placement in a rural clinic or senior's day care.
ICLC
offers SALUD, a language immersion program that
incorporates Spanish language classes, cultural
activities, an overview of the medical system in Costa
Rica, lectures and site visits to
Hospital San Rafael
(a public Hospital) or
Children's Hospital (specialized attention).
The participants will be able to opt for one week
service learning.
During
the service learning the foreign students will not be
able to treat patients directly. However the participant
will be able to do some basic hands on work such as
mini-lectures and supervised basic medical assistance.
The SALUD
program has been designed to accommodate participants of
different language levels.
